  • Catherine Gile Countries we send millions of dollars to are attacking our embassies chanting death to America, and burning our flag makes me hot!!! Not to mention the murdering of our ambassador or Navy Seals.
  • Lori Peters-Vaughn Exactly! And then Obama and his minions want to still chant that this is all about some video makes me illl! This was pre-planned and made for the anniversary of 9-11. How our President has the audacity to apologize to the Muslim Extremist Nation makes me sick!

  • Tom Hail Is Faux stirring up fear again? You think US intelligence is going to share with you what they know? And you want what to happen? Want to bomb someone? Who? Where? Stifle free speech? Listen to yourselves... not much removed from the Muslim rantings as far as I can see.
  • Catherine Gile Off base there Thomas, killing our ambassador is no Fauz stirring up.
  • Lori Peters-Vaughn Oh please Tom give me a break! Get your head out of the sand and wake up! This is not about free speech. This is about Americans being Slaughtered abroad and our President blaming it on some guy in CA who posted a video! Give me a break!!! You are a friend of Catherine so you can't be that stupid do you must be just a blind follower of come with me and I'll give you everything "Obama". Because he's done such a great job taking us 6 tril in debt and dissing our most loyal allies!!! Wake up!!!

  • Tom Hail Ok. WHO are you willing to kill over it? Where are they? Precisely. Specifically. What did Obama look like he was doing as OBL was being killed? He was cracking jokes at the press club dinner. Do you think you get to see what is going on in the background? For the safety of the troop you profess to cherish, you get to see nothing. Bush's economic collapse caused most of the deficit you see now. Lost jobs caused lost tax revenue. Americans died. The killers are being hunted. Obama said so the next day. The asshole made the movie and pissed off the Muslim assholes. How could you expect less than this considering how pissed they got over a stupid cartoon.

  • Tom Hail When the facts change. Which they wont. The national debt went up $6T under Bush-II. Fact, look it up, the data is there. Most of that was tax cuts and war that were not paid for. Fact. At the time Obama took office the labor force had lost 4 million non-government jobs in the previous year. By your logic, that is Bush's fault. With the decline in tax revenue more jobs were lost by states and local governments. Bush's fault. After Obama's first year in office, employment has gone up steadily since 1/2010. Fact. Obama didn't get the ambassador killed, Muslim right wing nut cases got pissed off at Christian right wing nut cases and rioted. Probably egged on by those who want war and more killing. Those people are being hunted. Now food stamps are a problem! Why? Because millions of people went out of work! Why? Obama didn't put them on the street! Corporate America and the American taxpayers put them on the street. Corporate America is sitting on $Ts and not creating jobs because they see no MARKET. Why? Because of the unemployed. How to get out of it? One way, which is how we got out of the great depression is for Government to spend money so there are people to buy stuff so that corporations will hire people. Knocked down over and over by the GOP!

Chris Pace Thomas, why hasn't your hero O brought all the troops home from Afghanistan? More soldiers have gotten killed on his watch there than during Bush's watch. The left is alway so up in arms about any wars, but they don't stop it either. The killing of the ambassador was a PLANNED ACT OF TERROR ON 9/11, and had nothing to do with some stupid video. That was just an excuse. Wimpy O just falls all over himself apologizing for the video. And in the last couple of days they have backtracked their original comments. What a bunch of dopes. Also what was the ambassador doing in another city away from his post? He knew said he knew he was a target.
Tom Hail How do you walk away from a mess you created? Bush ignored Afghanistan for year after 2001. You just walk away and let the Taliban walk back in? Let 100's of thousands die at their hands? Women especially? Any you folks are so afraid of Sharia law and you would let it back? How could you live with yourself? I don't know if it was or wasn't planned. You read anything I said? You think Obama is going to tell you or FOX what he knows? So Stevens went to get killed? What are you talking about. It doesn't matter if it was planned, we would have stopped it if it was known in advance but it wasn't. How many embassy attacks were on Bush's watch after 9/11? About a dozen. It happens. They know it can happen they try the best they can to prevent it. Believe me, stuff is happening in that part of the world by our forces you have no clue/concept about. They are not sitting around being targets. Planned or not, it happened. Get over it. So what if the Administration thought it was just a riot at first. SO WHAT??? The people who did it are being hunted. A drone missile is probably assigned. Obama apologized for nothing.
Chris Pace They admitted they knew something was going on and did nothing to beef up security on 9/11. And he did apologize the next day but said he couldn't do anything about it because of our free speech law. My question is why was the ambassador away from his post in this particular area? Just more secrets being kept from the American public. And Yes, the republicans are just as bad about the secrets and they should all be fired for lies and deceptions. And Shiria las is bad and that is the real war on women that should be talked about not the bull that Sandra Fluke is spewing about not getting her free birth control.
Lori Peters-Vaughn Chris I think you really need to stop trying to apologize for Obama and just realize that he is the problem. Stop blaming Bush!! It is old and cumbersome. No longer works. Been four years. Sorry too long take the punches and admit you didn't live up to your promises and stop the blame game. You failed Obama and its time to go. Obama apologized to the Islamic nation for a video that someone put out and how dare he!!! They killed our people!!! Where do you get off defending him!

Death for damaging a book

Tom from Cognitive Dissonance Podcast had this rant on the InKredulous podcast episode #015.  This is in reference to the little girl in Pakistan who was arrested and could have been tried for damaging a Qur'an, the penalty possibly being death.  Turns out the cleric who accused her may have actually planted the damaged book, so he is arrested and may suffer that fate.  I had to transcribe it...  the audio is better with the feeling he puts into it.
Death for damaging a book.
A book made of paper.
A stupid fucking book.
All that matters is that there is a place of solemnity and respect in the hearts of people for religion and religiosity and religious leaders and we are all supposed to kowtow to this idea that these religious ideas are valuable and the diversity of spirituality and ya-da ya-da ya-da and meanwhile an eleven year old girl is mobbed and nearly killed because people have taken that shit far too seriously for far too long and we are in two thousand and twelve and we live in a world that condemn people to death for violence against books!  Holy books made of paper!  And because of this non-sense, this utter fucking non-sense, my heart is filled with dirty filthy atheist rage when I look on that mindset.  And I give de-facto respect and adulation for religious ideas and religious leaders a hale and hearty "fuck you".
Awesome rant.

There is some good news... the case seems to be opening up the debate in Pakistan about their blasphemy laws.

You get up anyway.

Giffords was broken on that day, and she’s broken now. I’m broken, too, and so are you. Every day breaks us in a different way. But broken is not the same thing as dead, and if you’re not dead, you’re alive, and if you’re alive, you can do something. That’s not courage; it’s just what you do. You wake up. Something’s sore. Your head hurts. You don’t want to do what you have to do today. You don’t want to talk to humans. There’s so much weight that it feels like you can’t do it anymore. It’s pointless. It’s unmanageable. It’s awful. You can’t do it. You know, deep down in your stomach, that you simply can’t do it anymore. It’s impossible.
You get up anyway.
I guess I will too.

I got mine, too bad if you can't get yours

Conversation with my aunt and cousins and their friends...  just saving for prosperity...  like when Rmoney and Ryan take over and they start complaining.  I try and try to understand the conservative point of view.  All I got here is the same conservative stereotype of the liberal/progressive position... they don't try to understand my position, don't seem to think about anything I say or even listen.  It is all immediate, knee-jerk, Pavlovian reaction to my words straight from the GOP spin machine.
I have a question....what makes it right for women to demand that government provide free birth control and abortions while other people who depend on medications such as Insulin must pay for theirs??? How does anyone justify this? Pay your fair share seems somewhat hypocritical.

So I guess health care is a privilege. If you can pay for it, you can get it. The cost of insurance would be much lower if the insurers could pick and choose who they insure. It would be even lower if hospitals could turn away those who
don't have the cash, credit, or insurance to pay for their illness. Free birth control is a smart move not a demand. Birth control prevents unwanted pregnancies and reduces abortions (there is no provision for free abortions) and would reduce further the cost of insurance due to their not having to cover a pregnancy... oh, but then insurance doesn't have to cover pregnancy in the health care privilege world. Dale, no one pays NO taxes... if you have a job, part of your salary goes to payroll taxes, you pay social security and medicare taxes and almost everything you buy is taxed regardless of your job state. Americans helping Americans isn't patriotic at all. Nope.

No. The point is to work together as a community and nation. "E pluribus unum", that old motto from the founding fathers in 1789.... "out of many, one". Health care is very hard for one person or family to take care of (as noted above!)
it should be a state wide or national endeavor. It shouldn't even be an issue, is should just be a background assumption that health care is covered for everyone. Instead the right has turned it into fear of socialism and government control. Sorry, we are a social civilization, you can't do anything without society. You are safe in your home and nation because of socialist police and defense, you drive socialist roads, and your kids go to socialist schools. The list is unending. Literally unending. What is so special about health care?
        Yesterday at 9:29pm ·  · 1

      • Dale Milton I dont have a problem with working together as a community or nation. The point is that free abortions and contraceptives should not be provided free, while more important drugs people really need is so extremely expensive. Providing things free only further promotes poor behavior and lack of discipline. It is time for some accountability and fiscal responsibility which is the only way to correct our country. Go ROMNEY

Abortions are not and are not planned to be free. Contraceptives save money and do not promote "poor" behavior. It is time for critical thinking and rational thought. Drugs are expensive because the companies have to recoup development c
osts and please shareholders without any help from society. Where do you get this notion that free stuff causes poor behavior? What is free anyway? We all pay in some way for it all. Roads are free to travel on, does that cause the poor behavior on them? Would it be any different if they were toll roads? I don't think so.
        23 hours ago ·  · 1

      • Dale Milton
So you cherish the free stuff more than if you work for it? Funny you speaking of roads how are the free roads in california? Where gas is highest in nation and a state that is broke and cannot pay employees, maybe obama can bail you all o
ut with free money too! I was not raised with a silver spoon worked hard for my money nothing free for me or anyone else. I live within my means and expect everyone else to do the same. Our great nation provides opportunity equal to everyone, its up to us to make it better than we had it as kids. Abstinence is the best form of birth control. Maybe we should allow free conterception by means of vasectomy to be certain the free stuff is not abused. Wonder how many would sign up for that?

      • Melissa Milton Crum Well said Dale!
22 hours ago via mobile ·

      • Tom Hail
No, I don't cherish free stuff. I cherish a society that prospers. A society that prospers takes care of things that is hard for individuals to accomplish on their own. Roads, defense, fire fighting, etc help our society prosper and is a
shared expense. Sharing properly gives equal opportunity for everyone to grow. When women can control their bodies and pregnancies, societies prosper. Health care is not shared properly and it holds the poor and middle class back. Relative to GDP you and I haven't had a raise in 50 years and now health care costs are cutting into that. Covered birth control is such a small part of the whole mess but it has become such a lightening rod for those who fear change, fear difference, fear loss of what they have for no rational reason.

Yes taking care of others when they cannot take care of themselves is what we do as a family, community and state. Having the Federal Government take that responsibility is fundimentally flawed. It's too far removed from the person who can
not take care of himself. One major problem is, big news flash, not everyone who says they cannot take care of themselves really cannot take care of themselves. It's a mess, that we can agree on. Obama Care doesn't fix the problem it adds to the problem. Yes there are some good things in it, which could have taken about 5 pages to write. The rest, well who even knows what that is?
