I turned 50 last weekend. Holy cow. Had dinner with Mom and Dad, Louise/Les/Charles/Sarah, and friends Mojan/Ali/Mark/Spud. Not least being my lover Liz. :-) Very nice cake, huh?

Leaks
Bush had to leak information to contradict what others are saying about WMD and going to war? He couldn't just release the information formally? "The White House provided the this declassified document explaining... " would have been a lot better than a bunch of "leaks". To everyone, supporters and detractors. That would be the democratic way. Not like a bunch of kids playing spy and war. Does Bush think this is a game? Obviously since he let the special prosecutor spend millions of dollars on an investigation when he knew all along he prompted it. But that is nothing in the big Iraq war game he is playing.
As much as this sounds like it, it doesn't seem we can impeach him on this. What a moron. The worst President in American history and we can't get rid of him.

I cannot understand the fear of "amnesty" the right has. I cannot believe the House passed this stupidity. I hope the Senate can block it. With 5% unemployment, jobs is not the reason to keep people out... the illegals are not taking jobs away from us. Imagine the economic boom if all those hard working people could come out of the closet and really prosper. But no, the morons want to build a wall and deport everyone not here legally. It is our failed international economic policies that drove them here to begin with. The morons are afraid of amnesty, like it would cause disruption of society. Why not admit our failures, try to solve the problem instead of making it worse. I think we should forgive them being here illegally, provide amnesty as long as they all register and get a valid SSN. Contribute fully to the economy. Get driver's licenses, insurance, pay taxes fully, allow them to become citizens. That will benefit this country the most. No billions spent on a stupid, worthless wall. Bush's stupid guest worker plan is just as bad... we'll let you stay for a few years but then you have to go home... like that will work. If constraints like that are placed, no reform will work. But Bushie is just trying to find some middle worthless ground that he can appease some people with. Nothing he says anymore is worth listening to.

National Debt
They increased our credit limit to nearly $9 Trillion! I plotted our debt since 1950 and look what you get... when Republicans are in office, the debt shoots up! I got the data from the US Treasury Dept, raw data uncorrected for inflation or anything. I need to find the GNP numbers to compare with.

Aliens
I think the borders should be thrown open. Give everyone crossing an ID card after recording their biometrics. Labor laws should apply to all, as if they were citizens. Income and SS taxes like everyone else. Health care... I have other thoughts on that subject...
