National Day of Prayer Task Force News Proclamation: "National Day of Prayer, 2008

A Proclamation by the President of the United States of
America

America trusts in the abiding power of prayer and asks for the wisdom to discern God's will in times of joy and of trial. As we observe this National Day of Prayer, we recognize our dependence on the Almighty, we thank Him for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us, and we put our country's future in His hands."

Another reason to impeach Bush, he puts our country's future in the hands of someone else? He is allowing someone else to guide the country?

And who is he speaking for? I don't trust the power of prayer! I don't care what will any god has! I do not recognize any dependence on any diety. What blessing has he given me or our country? Iraq is a blessing? $4 gas is a blessing? G. W. Bush is a blessing?

  1. Congratulations, you just showed your own ignorance on economics if you actually believe a president has much power over the economy (vs. federal reserve, congress, the consumer).

One more thing, what use is a cease-fire treaty if an unelected dictator like saddam is allowed to break it? Ever wonder how the 20th century could have been had Germany been invaded and the Nazi regime destroyed right after they broke the treaty of versailles? Naaahhh, probably haven't given the issue much thought have you? I'm sure you're against allowed the unelected terrorist sponsoring Iranian regime to illegally defy the United Nations, clearly break the nuclear non proliferation treaty?? Let me guess, it's all Bush's fault, right?

  2. Where did I say a President has any control over how well the economy runs? Not only does the President have little power to improve the economy, neither does the federal reserve or congress. They can nudge and conjole, but that is it. Only the comsumer and investors really drive the economy. But a President can screw an economy with his policies and actions. You think this $Trillion war won't have an effect? All money we are borrowing? You don't think the instability in the Mid East we added to hasn't had an effect on oil and the markets? Saddam was contained. Every time he pushed a limit he was punished. Every time he fired a missle we bombed the crap out of something. Eventually he would have been removed by Iraqis, at a whole lot less cost than we expended in the first month of the war. I bet if we had invaded Germany in the 30's (not that we had the might to do it then) nothing would have been solved. The Germans would probably have been again humiliated and some other dictator would have risen and there would have been WWIII in the 60's. Iran is in the position to defy the UN because BUSH made it possible. If we hadn't invaded Iraq and instead worked with the UN on Saddam's supposed nuclear program, the UN position would be a lot more effective. So yes, it is Bush's fault. You think of that? Naaahhh... probably still think Saddam had something to do with 9/11, that Iraq had a real nuclear program, that the Constitution is something to work around or under, or even ignore if it doesn't suit you.
