Fuck the South

This is pretty angry... sorry for the language. But it is expressive for the moment. I am angry at Bush winning. Condi Rice as Sec of State? Hell no! Got to stop that! I sent a letter to my Senators and posted a message at
Sorry Everybody
saying sorry but don't give up. I hope the message takes off. I think Rice's nomination can stopped and that would be a victory. Who knows who would be nominated next, but that wouldn't matter, as long and Rice is blocked and a message is sent that even if Bush won the election, 49% don't want Rice representing us to the world. Toadie. Maureen Dowd called her one of his Toadies. I like that. I respect her for her obvious abilities but a Bush yes-man as Sec of State is a very bad idea.

"Condi Rice and Stephen Hadley did not do their jobs before 9/11 in coordinating the fight against Al Qaeda, and they did not do their jobs after 9/11 in preventing the debacle in Iraq. They not only suppressed evidence Americans needed to know that would have debunked the neocons' hyped-up case for invading Iraq; they helped shovel hooey into the president's speeches."

Bush Jokes - George W. Bush Humor

One week to election day. I still can't see why anyone would vote for Bush. Why? How can anyone think it is the right thing to do? He screwed up Iraq, pissed off most of the world, no longer able to work with other leaders in any meaningful way, Osama is still on the loose and a new even nastier guy is in Iraq chopping off heads of hostages. It just baffles me. I don't believe a word that comes out of Bush's mouth. He distorts and twistes everything Kerry says in a way that is effectively lying. I get so mad when I hear him I have to shout back at him. Mostly in the car. Moron. And that is just the Iraq shit that pisses me off. More Iraq shit... they have lost or let slip through their fingers 337 million pounds (tons?) of explosives. Bush is commander in chief... the buck stops at his desk... if that stuff ends up in NYC, he ought to be impeached if he is still in office. I think he ought to be impeached for the lack of WMDs, no 9/11-Iraq link, and the 20,000 casualties - 1,100 lives/8,100 Purple Hearts/12,000 "other injuries". Clinton gets impeached for lying about a blow job in the White House, why doesn't Bush get impeached for killing 1,100 servicemen and blowing $225 Billion?

He better lose.

IHT: Maureen Dowd: The return of the Terrifier in Chief

This link is a great comment on Cheney's threat to us voters that if we don't vote for Bush, we die. What a bunch of crap. Maureen Dowd's opinion reflect what I am feeling. They are scaring us into voting for 4 more years of Bush like they scared us into going to Iraq. Damn them! And damn all who don't see that and are falling for it!

I saw Outfoxed last night on DVD. Pretty scary and thought provoking... we need to write TV stations and advertisers that we want to see facts and not opinions. For our democracy to work, we need to be informed! We need to form our own opionions! NBC, ABC, CBS are all falling into the trap set by Fox to do the cheap and not research fact, just spew opionion. We need to make our need for fact known to advertisers and the networks. We need to demand from congress that if the networks want to use OUR airways, they provide the service we need for a fair and valid democracy.

Hello from Ben Lomond

Here is a rant from brother Peter, I liked it...

they are both crazy. you can't be at war with verb or a noun, whatever it is.

this is the same as the war on drugs, it isn't a war, it's a criminal prosecution. And it would be more effective if we treated the problem rather than tried to stomp on it like an elephant stepping on a mouse.

Nixon was the only one that effectively won a victory in the war on drugs. He did it by setting up methadone clinics and making sure there was an active movement to get people into treatment. The problem went away in less than a year. And that was Heroin.

The problem is nobody really wants either war to end. Because without war, there is nothing to drive the economy. We are a slave of the industrial weapons complex as well as the criminal / enforcement bureaucracy. We ARE part of the problem, we make the weapons and install the dictators that drive the conditions that result in drug trade and terrorists.

It is interesting to note that the only effective drug clean up done on a federal level was at the steps of the White House, just 2 blocks away from Nixon's porch in Washington D.C. And after it was completed, the new drug czar immediately canceled it, and switched over to a nationwide policy of enforcement and arrest first, treatment became a secondary, under funded, policy that was viewed as too liberal and ineffective.

This will become the policy of the U.S. (Democrat or Republican) and we will build more prisons to house more terrorists, invade and carry out unpopular "excursions" into other countries using our military and the thing will go on endlessly or until the rest of the world tells us to fuk off. Just like the war on drugs. It's stupid, but people will get rich.

End of rant thing.

There is some hope that Bush will not win. He didn't fulfill the terms of the vote authorizing force. Force was to be last resort. Made feeble attempts to get others to join us. Didn't let inspectors finish. Kerry voted assuming he would fulfill those promises. Kerry voted against the $87B because he wanted to separate out the $20B for Iraq, not because he objected to the $67B for troop support. Get the facts!

I work for a defense contractor. I have no problem with our product or customer and their mission. I support them 100% because the better our product works, the less likely someone will get hurt by Bush's ineptness.

Blogs for kids! Good idea!

No Al-Queda link to Saddam. That is what the commision on 9/11 came up with. No surprize... I can't believe there are those out there who still believe it.
"Dishonest Dubya" Lying Action Figure Doll - George W. Bush

This is very funny. I enjoyed it a lot!

WHAT a MESS. Didn't find WMDs. No Al-Queda link to Saddam. And now we are no better than Saddam. Poor leadership is the only for the mis-treatment of Iraqi prisoners. So people still want Bush to be President? I don't understand. All of the reasons for attacking Iraq have gone away.

21 April, 2004

I said it before... it was a mistake to disband the Iraqi army. Too many unemployed men, bitter about life. Now they are pissed and misguided and doing battle instead of working to build a new country.

dead 700+
wounded and maimed 3000+
WMDs 0, zip, nada, not one

Bush should be voted out simply because of this... nothing else makes up for his inept handling of the whole thing.

The mob keeps forgetting....
we are a nation ruled by Law.
Not by men or mobs.

It doesn't matter what "everyone" thinks or wants. If you want the
law changed, then change it but it has to be within the constraints
of the constitution, state or federal.

If you have a law you want but the Judical system won't support it
because of constitutional issues, too bad. That is our system.
Judges have to consider the constitution, nothing else. The "will of
the people" is irrelevant.

If you don't like that, then change the constitution if you can.
That is intentionally very hard to do to protect the disadvantaged or
minority.

Jesus! Why can't they understand? To keep jobs in this country
we have to make education available. We have to have affordable
education. And that includes R&D money for universities to work with.
Tuition is going up, universities are closing and we are watching our
educational capabilities dry up. Concerned about jobs leaving the
country? Then make it possible to have a smart, innovative workforce
here. Democrats can't force industry to keep jobs here. Can't do it.
Republicans can't hope that trickel down will provide enough posperity
keep kids going to school, nor will standardized testing do squat.

What a bunch of crap.

Hey! If you don't like jobs being outsourced, then quit buying cheap Chinese junk. Boycott Chinese made JUNK!

For the rest of the jobs going away... it would help a lot if the tort laws made it cheaper to have an American worker. Universal health care/insurance would also make haveing an American worker more competitive. But single companies can't achieve this, the legislature has to do it.

a place for Tom to observe
also... my daughter is getting all bent out of shape because of Bush's amendment... I told her it will never pass. Too many people out there with common sense... I HOPE!
My brother has a theory... Bush wants to go to Mars so that we spend all NASA's budget on it and not science. That way we can't continue to fund research that disproves his religious views. Eventually the MARS flight will be cancelled and all is safe in his world.

Bush also needs to distract from the Iraq war and mess so he is picking on gay marriage. Obviously getting worried he won't be re-elected.

I wish Edwards was doing better. Maybe Super Tuesday will be a boost for him. I think I'll vote for him. I am not sure I like Kerry.
