I do have hope that the Tea Party is going to die off but the problem is how to get more objective truth out there and to counter the next "Tea Party". Journalism is supposed to be the watchdog of our democracy but is getting corrupted. Bloggers like Ebert don't seem to get to the mainstream. It is going to be a long battle and unless the people learn they are being manipulated with their fear, the 1% are going to win. Not very encouraged that is going to happen.fly44dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09547504074062765327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5218798.post-64463191220387099202011-04-10T13:37:16.791-07:002011-04-10T13:37:16.791-07:00It is supremely depressing for me to see all of th...It is supremely depressing for me to see all of this. I knew that the US was a materialistic country but now it looks like massive greed (or greed envy) is the norm. The culture has an obsession with money. The 1% owns the media and keep the masses watching celebrities and feeding them false facts. The people glorify money and so don’t want those with money to part with it, as they hope that someday they will get a part of the pie (or are made to believe that they will.) I also read a report showing that the people in the US were the most “afraid” in the western world. Scared people are easy prey to propaganda. The 1% owns the news, the TV, the politicians, the lobbyists and they certainly don’t want to educate the masses – it’s easier to keep them ignorant and make them vote against their own interest – the Tea Party has been a great success in that way. It is sad. I don’t think it will change – change maybe, but not for the better.Vagabondehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10774109692564954568noreply@blogger.com
